I offer in home day training for busy dog parents. That means, I train your dog for you, while you go about your day. If your dog needs help with basic manners, polite leash walking or leash reactivity, I do the work and you come home to a relaxed dog who is a joy to live with.
In person dog training available in Montclair, Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, Verona, Cedar Grove, West Orange, Nutley, and nearby Essex County communities.

Congratulations on your new puppy! The first few months are when your puppy is learning the most about the world: what is safe, what is scary, and how to live with people.
Socializing and training early is an investment. The habits your puppy builds now become the dog you live with for years. Starting early means fewer behavior problems later and less stress for your puppy and your whole family.
For puppies under 4 months (16 weeks)
Every package includes:
- 4 x 60min training sessions, completed within one month
- Text or Email support (Mon-Fri, 9-5pm)
- Access to video library & handouts
- Your pressing puppy questions answered every week
What We Will Cover
- Socialization: building confidence with new people, places, sounds, and surfaces to prevent fear and reactivity
- Potty training: a simple routine that sets your puppy up for success
- Handling: getting comfortable with touch on paws, ears, mouth, and body
- Basic skills: the foundations your puppy will use every day, sit and down
- Resource guarding prevention: teaching your puppy that people near food and toys is a good thing
- Preventing jumping and nipping: what to do instead, and how to teach it
- Positive vet and grooming visits: helping your puppy feel safe at appointments from the start

“Busy & Brilliant” Life & Leash Skills Day Training Packages
Jen G. Pywell comes to your home, works directly with your dog — all while you’re managing your day. Dog parents are welcome to be present.
Rather than you having to learn how to be a dog trainer, the skills your dog needs are pre-installed. Then I transfer the skills to you, and your job is to maintain them. You come home to a dog who is a joy to live with.
For dogs 4 months (16 weeks) and older. Adult dogs welcome!
Every package includes:
- 3 training sessions per week
- 1 skills transfer session per week + 2 follow-up sessions
- Weekly video progress reports
- Text or Email Support (Mon-Fri, 9-5pm)

What We Will Cover
Choose your focus: Basic Manners -or- Loose Leash Walking
- Sit and down: reliable cues at home, on walks, and around distractions
- Stay: holding position until released
- Place: settling on a bed or mat on cue
- Leash walking: walking politely without pulling
- Impulse control: waiting at doors, for food, and before greeting people
- Focus & Attention: checking in with you
- Crate & confinement training
- Everyday manners: preventing counter surfing, jumping on people, and mouthiness
